A New York politician seems more interested in being famous than in helping his community, as the newly formed 10th Congressional District race continues to get more interesting.

The New York Post reports that Congressman Mondaire Jones is planning a multi-state tour to win support for other Democrats if he wins the primary.

Jones is also controversial for deciding he’s going to run for office representing a newly designed district in Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn, before he even moved there.

Kyle Schnitzer and Sam Raskin of The New York Post write that: “Jones, whose current seat covers most of Rockland County and part of Westchester, relocated to Brooklyn in early June after deciding to take his chances running for the newly reconfigured 10th Congressional District, which now runs from Lower Manhattan to Park Slope, Carroll Gardens and other parts of brownstone Brooklyn”.

“If you’re going to be involved, you need to stay there and be present,” Carroll Gardens Jones neighbor Joaquin Soto, 47, told The New York Post. “If you really want to help a community, you cannot do that remotely. That is just appalling. If you want to contribute to the community, you have to be present. It makes no sense. That is irresponsible, that is someone looking after their own agenda.”

A normal, non “woke” Park Slope resident told TJV:  “I don’t care if he is from Mars, anything is better than that deranged sociopathic, vaccine crazed lunatic Bill De Blasio, I would vote for a pygmy from Botswana, who don’t even speak a word of English, before I vote for that mentally ill psycho Bill De Blasio”

Jones announced his plans for after the August 23rd primary to his listeners on a recent podcast. In a statement to The New York Post, Jones said, “Defending the post-primary traveling, a campaign rep previously told The Post, “As Rep. Jones has shown by crisscrossing the district and all of New York City, he is on a mission to deliver progressive results for New Yorkers any way he can, and yes that includes helping protect the Democratic majorities in the House and Senate.”

According to his Wikipedia page, “Jones was born in Nyack, New York, and grew up in Spring Valley, New York, where he was raised by a single mother who worked multiple jobs to support him, and his grandparents. He graduated from public schools in the East Ramapo Central School District. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Stanford University in 2009 and his Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School in 2013. And is one of the first openly gay black member of congress”
