for Coronary Procedures & Prostate Surgeries

Edited by: TJVNews.com

Lenox Hill Hospital ranks #2 in coronary intervention procedures and #3 in prostate surgeries in New York State, according to a new analysis released by Healthgrades, the leading resource that connects consumers, physicians, and health systems. For the state ranking analysis, Healthgrades evaluated clinical performance for nearly 4,500 hospitals nationwide focusing on eight key specialties across a mix of chronic, urgent, and planned clinical areas.

“We are extremely proud to be ranked as one of the best hospitals in the state for coronary intervention and prostate surgery,” said Daniel Baker, MD, MBA, executive director of Lenox Hill Hospital. “This special recognition is a testament to the extensive expertise of our talented clinicians and our dedication to providing top-notch patient care.”

Hospitals recognized among the top ranked in their state by Healthgrades are providing patients with measurably superior clinical outcomes. From 2018-2020, patients treated at hospitals receiving a state ranking for coronary interventions, on average, had a 48.6% lower risk of mortality and patients treated at hospitals receiving a state ranking for prostate surgeries, on average, had a 54.5% lower risk of experiencing a complication while in the hospital than if they were treated at hospitals that were not ranked.*

“Hospitals receiving a top state ranking have much to be proud of as their deep medical expertise has built a track record of delivering positive outcomes for their patients,” said Brad Bowman, MD, Chief Medical Officer and Head of Data Science at Healthgrades. “Patients can feel confident knowing that they have access to top ranked care for coronary intervention and prostate surgery at Lenox Hill, a hospital that’s committed to high quality care.”

Earlier this year Lenox Hill Hospital also received the following accolades from Healthgrades:

  • The America’s 50 Best Hospitals Award™ placing it within the top 1% for clinical care quality. Lenox Hill is the only hospital in NYC to receive this distinction in 2022;
  • The America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Cardiac Care Award™ for 9 years in a row (2014-2022). Lenox Hill is the only Hospital in New York State to receive this award for 9 years in a row;
