An Arab terrorist attempted to ram his car into a group of Israeli soldiers operating in Samaria on Monday night to demolish the homes of terrorists, lightly injuring two of them.

The Border Police stated that it arrested a suspect in an attempt to ram troops during an operation in Silat al- Khartiyah to demolish the home of terrorists. The troops identified a vehicle driving towards them quickly and then it collided with armored their vehicle.

As a result of the collision, two Border Police were evacuated for medical treatment at their base. The vehicle was damaged.

The terror suspect was transferred for questioning by security forces.

The attack occurred as IDF forces operated to destroy the home of the terrorist Muhammad Jaradat, as well as the floor on which Jit Jaradat lived in the village.

The two were involved in the December 16, 2021, shooting attack at the Coumesh Junction in Samaria, in which Yehuda Dimentman was murdered and two other Israelis were injured.

During the demolition operation, violent riots broke out involving dozens of Arab rioters who threw stones, Molotov cocktails, explosives, and improvised grenades at the forces. The fighters used means to disperse demonstrations.

In addition, armed terrorists fired at the forces. IDF troops returned fire and “successfully completed their mission, the IDF stated.

The demolition of the houses was carried out after petitions submitted to the High Court by the families of the terrorists were rejected.

The home of terrorist Mahmoud Jaradat, another member of the terror cell, was destroyed on February 14. On March 1, an order was issued to confiscate and demolish the home of terrorist Omar Jaradat.

The demolitions of terrorists’ homes are meant to serve as deterrence for potential terrorists plotting future attacks.

Israeli forces captured the four-man terror cell that carried out the shooting attack in northern Samaria in which Dimentman, 25 and a father of a baby, was murdered and two other Israelis were injured.

The cell included Muhammad Jaradat, a senior Islamic Jihad official and a released prisoner.

The military prosecution has filed indictments against the terrorists.

The Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the attack and said that it was in retaliation for the killing of one of its operatives, Jamil Kiel of Shechem.
