Amichai Lourie always had a passion for making wine. When he first started at Shiloh Winery in 2005, he quickly gained a reputation for quality and professionalism. Under his guidance, Shiloh wines have been awarded gold medals and international recognition at the highest level. Amichai’s ability to work with many different varieties of grapes and styles of wine, while consistently delivering exceptional vintages provides wine lovers with unique blends and extraordinary single varietal wines year after year.

The highest quality wines begin with the best soil and the optimal climate conditions for the vineyard. Fortunately, the cool nights and warm days of the Samarian Hills create an ideal climate for grapes. At an elevation between 650 to 900 meters above sea level, Shiloh Winery’s vineyards are situated in areas that have produced the highest quality of wine grapes since biblical times. The winery keeps expanding the vineyards it sources its grapes from, and we now have over 75 acres of vines.

All Shiloh wines are certified by four Kashrut agencies: OK-Kosher, Badatz Chatam Sofer Bnei Brak, Rabbanut (Mehadrin) Mateh Binyamin, as well as Rabbi Yechiel Babad. All Shiloh wines are Kosher-Parve for Passover (Mehadrin) and all year round. Shiloh Winery tithes the grapes, in biblical tradition, and gives them to a family of Levites, and in every third and sixth year of the seven-year Shmita cycle, the winery sets aside unmarked bottles to fulfill the mitzva of Tithing for the Poor. These bottles are distributed to needy families with the help of Social Services and reliable charity organizations.

Shiloh Winery–Ancient Roots, Modern Winery

Wine has always been a part of Jewish tradition. The abundance of biblical winepresses discovered in present-day Shiloh attests to this, and is the root of our modern winery. Established in 2005, the winery overlooks the breathtaking Shiloh River and Samarian Hills in what most studies have found to be the most ancient wine terroir in the world. Selecting only the best grapes from this region, the winery combines state-of-the-art technology with the uncompromising professionalism of winemaker Amichai Luria. The result: wines that sweep awards at international wine competitions and are sought after by connoisseurs around the world.

Biblical Shiloh

Quality grapes and wine production have been associated with the Shiloh region for thousands of years. When Jacob blesses Joseph, he says: “From the God of your father will be your help, and the Almighty will bless you, blessings from the heavens above, blessings from the deeps that lie beneath…” (Genesis 49:25). With this enduring blessing in mind, the unspoiled landscape all around, and an immeasurable love of the land, entrepreneur Dr. Mayer Chomer could not resist founding the Shiloh Winery in this region.

The bull is the symbol of the tribe of Joseph. With its strength and passion for leadership, as well as its humility and dedication to hard work, the bull represents an integral part of the essence of Joseph and Shiloh. It symbolizes the winery’s history, its wines, and Shliloh’s commitment to create for the future with the utmost respect for our past. “His glory is like the first-born of his bull, and his horns are like the horns of the wild ox…” (Deuteronomy 33:17).

Three thousand years ago, King David wrote: “Wine gladdens the heart of Man” (Psalms 104:15). To this day, whether welcoming the Sabbath or bidding it farewell, celebrating holidays or special occasions, or elevating a simple meal with a touch of class, there will always be wine in the Jewish home. In ancient times, the Land of Israel’s agricultural success provided its residents and the Jews of the Diaspora with wine. The Shiloh Winery team takes great pleasure in shipping its high quality wines from this unique region, to Jewish families and communities all over the world.

Wine Selection

Shiloh Winery is honored and thankful to present Shiloh Mosaic Exclusive Edition. This unique and extraordinary wine expresses their commitment to consistency and improved quality throughout the years. It symbolizes our gratitude to God, as all can see, feel and actually drink the blessings of working the land of Israel with our hands. For in the heritage of Joseph land the Torah says: “Blessed by the Almighty is his (Yosef) land with the heavenly bounty of dew and with the deep waters crouching below…” In fact, no other tribal territory was as good and fertile as Joseph’s… His portion is cooler and their fruits are sweeter… (Rashi, on Deuteronomy 33:13).

Deep purple in color, Shiloh Mosaic Exclusive Edition showcases aromas of black cherry and mocha. It is a bit jammy at first sip, yet firm tannins fill the mouth, leading to flavors of raspberry, blueberry, dark chocolate, lavender, as well as anise, followed by a long and floral finish.

This wine has an opaque purple color. It features intense fruit aromas, along notes of blackberry, roasted coffee beans, as well as cocoa. On the palate, it is complemented with complex, varied flavors: black fruit, blueberry and raspberry. It is full-bodied, multilayered, with rich tannins, with a long and elegant finish.

This wine was made exclusively with Chardonnay grapes, fermented, and then aged for 6 months in French oak barrels. Light gold in color, with a delightfully aromatic blend of ripe citrus fruits, pineapple and grass. Crisp and elegant, with pleasant acidity balanced by fruit and citrus flavors on the palate.

Privilege

An elegantly balanced and complex blend. An opportunity to enjoy a very special and smooth wine made of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Grenache and Cabernet Franc grapes. The maturity provided by aging the wine during 6 months in French oak barrels, allows us to appreciate its great quality and value the distinctive flavors of ripe fruits that resemble the uniqueness of the land of Israel.

Rose

Delicately fruit-forward, this refreshing rosé wine delights the palate with fabulous notes of red and sweet tropical fruits and is balanced by mouth-watering acidity and a crisp finish.
