In addition to artists and art lovers being drawn like a magnet to Art Basel Miami, it has been reported that top contemporary entertainers will be on hand to thrill crowds with their talents.
According to a report in the New York Post, singer Alicia Keys will guide a meditation in the Design District of Miami and will follow that a presentation of her songs.
Other singing sensations at Art Basel will be Lizzo, who according to the New York Post will be performing at the stretch of beach near the Edition Hotel for American Express at its Platinum Studio. The Post also reported that singer Cardi B, will be around for the launch of Whipshots which is a “whipped cream infused vodka” at Miami’s Goodtime Hotel.
At Miami’s SoHo House, funk pioneer George Clinton will deliver an address about his painting, according to the Post report, as was reported by the Post.
Glamorous events replete with the grandest of the glitterati are ubiquitous sites during Miami Art Week and this year is no different.
The Post reported that prominent members of the fashion industry will be at Art Basel including designer Fendi who is scheduled to join designer Kim Jones for dinner. Fashion designer Christian Dior will be throwing a shindig of sorts and designer Ferragamo, along with Cultured Magazine will be hosting a party at the Red Rooster location in Miami, according to the Post report.
Having their ear to the ground, the Post has reported that a yacht party is being sponsored by Vogue Magazine and not to be out done, W Magazine is scheduled to hold a party that is filled with celebrities of all stripes. Other soirees include one that is to held at the luxurious Faena Hotel in Miami Beach and is being organized by Jean-Paul Gaultier. The upscale party will be celebrating Argentinean artist Pilar Zeta’s “Hall of Visions” exhibit, according to the Post report.
A cocktail party and Troye Sivan performance will be the order of the day when Amy Astley, editor of Architectural Digest, will celebrate the influential “AD 100,” as was reported by the Post.
The W South Beach Hotel will be the venue for a dinner honoring artist Emmanuel Taku and will be hosted by model Candice Susan Swanepoel for the Daily Front Row. The Post reports that it is a fashion insider favorite.
Other celebs at Art Basel will be DJs Marshmello, Martin Garrix and Steve Aoki who will play at Liv, while Diplo and Kaskade will perform at Story, according to the Post report. Migos and Meek Mill will light up mega club E11even.
A number of artists — including Raymond Pettibon, Marilyn Minter, Kara Walker, Alex Israel and Robert Mapplethorpe’s estate — have donated work to be auctioned at Artsy’s event with Planned Parenthood, as was reported by the Post.
