(VINnews) — The man who savagely slapped a Jewish plumber in Boro Park on Wednesday, knocking him down and causing him to lose conciousness, has been arrested by the NYPD.
Isaac Lofler, 54, had parked his van on 39th Street and 12 Ave in Boro Park for a job. A woman complained that his van slightly blocked her driveway, so he told her he would move as soon as she needed to get in or out.
But shortly thereafter, her husband came outside, flew into a rage and slapped Lofler across the face, hard enough to knock him unconcious.
Lofler suffered a bruise near his eye and a cut in his mouth from the incident.
The police were called, but the man quickly took his wife and child and fled the scene, leading to a 2 day hunt up until his arrest on Friday.
Neighbors say that the man is feared in his neighborhood, and is known to fly off the handle anytime anybody goes near his driveway.
According to the NYPD, he will not be charged with a hate crime, as anti-Semitism is not believed to be a factor, but rather his over-sensitivity with people parking near or blocking his driveway.
