Historic East Village Condo Becomes Flashpoint for Covid Vaccine Issue

By: Jared Evan

Christodora House, the historic building located at 143 Avenue B in the East Village, known for various poets and musicians who have resided at the condo, has become the battleground for medical privacy and the contentious issue of forced vaccination.

The board of the Christodora House, an 83-unit condominium near Tompkins Square Park, has notified staffers that they have until June 15 to receive at least one dose of Covid-19 vaccine, or they will be looking for work, the New York Post reported.

7 staffers of the building have received the vaccination; however a doorman and a porter have refused.

“I feel like my human rights are being violated,” one of the unvaccinated staffers, Jesus, told the Post. He asked his name not to be used for fear of jeopardizing his future employment.

The 30-year-old doorman said he was not comfortable with getting shots because vaccines were developed “fairly fast”.

The doorman also brought up a very interesting point. The farcical enticements which the city has been offering the vaccine hesitant, ranging from free Krispy Kreme doughnuts, free MTA, free marijuana from dispensaries and the infamous plea from Mayor de Blasio, when he went on local TV eating Shake Shack burgers and fries, in a humorous attempt to entice vaccine hesitant to take the jab; make government officials seem desperate to get the vaccine rates up.

‘We’re giving you free Mets tickets, French fries, Ubers” he said. “It doesn’t sit well with me.”

“I feel like my human rights are being violated,” said Jesus, who started his job in February 2020 and has a 5-year-old son. He added, “I gave you my best self [at the height of the pandemic] and I did everything I was required … I did all the dirty work and now when it’s smooth sailing, you want to kick me out.”

“Why do I have to get vaccinated to make you feel good?”, the doorman told the Post.

Both workers who are vaccine hesitant have not ruled out the vaccine, they want to wait longer before taking it. Evidently the workers, have been closely following the news from deep sources, which have informed people about several thousand post vaccine deaths reported to the CDC’s Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS)

The casual New Yorker who only glimpses at the news on cable TV, is relatively clueless to the reports of deaths and dangerous side effects. While it is obvious, millions of people are not dropping dead from the vaccine and the jab is highly effective, as the pandemic is vanishing; it is perfectly reasonable to be concerned with the reports coming in from all over America. While it is certain, many of these deaths are coincidental, some of them may indeed by tied to the experimental M-Rna vaccines.

According to new guidance by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, employers are allowed to require workers to get a Covid-19 vaccine. There is certain to be many contentious cases rising out of the concept of forcing workers to take a vaccination and the erosion of medical privacy in the workplace.
