Teigen is Toast! Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s, Target Pull Model’s Cookware Line Over Cyberbullying Charges

Edited by: TJVNews.com

Turns out that cyberbullying is not good for one’s business aspirations. According to a report in the Page Six section of the New York Post, Bloomingdale’s department store has decided to cancel a deal with model, television personality and cookbook author Chrissy Teigen at the 11th hour due to new revelations about cyberbullying that she allegedly engaged in.

The report indicated that before the toxic press about Teigen emerged, Bloomingdale’s was only hours away from signing a lucrative contract with Teigen that would have featured her new cookware line known as “Cravings by Chrissy.”

What caused this scandal to take on a new life were allegations made by model Courtney Stodden, according to the Post report. Stodden, 26, (uses gender neutral pronouns to describe themselves) has revealed that when they were only 16 years old, Teigen had encouraged Stodden her to commit suicide in private Twitter messages.

The Post reported that Stodden told the Daily Beast in a recent interview that Teigen publicly tweeted messages to them that included such hateful rhetoric as: “I hate you,” “my Friday fantasy: you. Dirt nap” and “go. To sleep. forever.” They also revealed that the Sports Illustrated cover model privately messaged them telling them to kill themself. “Things like, ‘I can’t wait for you to die,’” Stodden told the Daily Beast.

According to the Post report, Stodden saw a meteoric rise to fame in 2011 when at age 16 they married Doug Hutchison, a then 51-year old actor.

As was reported by Newsweek, Stodden also told The Daily Beast that taunts from Joy Behar, Courtney Love, and Anderson Cooper hurt her, but Teigen was particularly singled out in the article.

The Post reported that last Wednesday, Teigen, 35, issued an apology on Twitter by posting, “Not a lot of people are lucky enough to be held accountable for all their past bulls–t in front of the entire world. I’m mortified and sad at who I used to be.” She added, “I was an insecure, attention seeking troll. I am ashamed and completely embarrassed at my behavior but that… is nothing compared to how I made Courtney feel.”

Bloomingdale’s is owned by the same company as Macy’s, which reportedly removed its Teigen-branded cookware line as well. Previously, reports claimed Target dropped Teigen from a deal, but the retailer later indicated its partnership with her previously ended months ago, according to a report in Newsweek.

Target released a statement following the reports it had only recently broke off a working relationship with the outspoken celebrity, as was reported by Newsweek. “We made the mutual decision in December to no longer carry the cookware line, given our continued focus on brands we develop and that can only be found at Target,” the retailer said.

The deal with Bloomingdale’s would have also included a promotional event for the store, but that has also been canceled, according to Page Six.
