(TJVNEWS.COM) Prominent leftist filmmaker and Black Lives Matter activist Bree Newsome took to Twitter after police shot and killed black teenager Ma’Khia Bryant in Columbus, Ohio.
According to The Cleveland Plain Dealer, the girl, who was either 15 or 16 depending on various reports, was shot and killed by an officer Tuesday. Footage from the bodycam, released later that evening by the Columbus Division of Police, shows the officer arriving on the scene as the girl was swinging a knife at another female. The officer yelled for the girl with the knife to get down, but she refused, charging another woman who was pinned against a car — and prompting the officer to shoot her.
Bree Newsome is an American filmmaker, musician, speaker, and activist from Charlotte, North Carolina. She is best known for her act of civil disobedience on June 27, 2015, when she was arrested for removing the Confederate flag from the South Carolina state house grounds in the aftermath of the Charleston church shooting. The resulting publicity put pressure on state officials to remove the flag, and it was taken down permanently on July 10, 2015.
In addition, her film Wake has won numerous awards, including the Outstanding Independent Short Film award in the Black Reel Awards of 2012and the Best Short Film at the BET Urban World Film Festival. It has been screened at many film festivals including the 63rd annual Cannes Film Festival in France, the New York International Latino Film Festival, and the Montreal International Black Film Festival
Newsome’s take on the shooting is quite astonishing. The well-respected but highly racist and dangerous activist tweeted: “Teenagers have been having fights including fights involving knives for eons. We do not need police to address these situations by showing up to the scene & using a weapon against one of the teenagers,” she tweeted. “Y’all need help. I mean that sincerely.”
In her worldview, it is better for a teenager to stab a victim to death than have a police officer stop the attack, particularly if the officer is white. Murder has been happening forever, we don’t want any laws to stop it,’ is the young radical filmmaker’s strange mindset.

In a follow-up Tweet, she proudly displayed her hatred, and distrust of humans with a different skin color from hers. Twitter had no problem with the racist tinged Tweet, even though hate is allegedly not permitted on Twitter.
“Everyone should be frightened that the ruling white elite have done such a thoroughly successful job of not only disconnecting us from the means of basic self-sufficiency but also convincing us we need armed white officers to manage our children & communities. Frightening”, She wrote.
