One woman who reportedly tried to breach the doors to the Capitol was shot in the neck inside the Capitol building, according to videos and photos shared to social media Wednesday afternoon. NBC reported the woman has died, the video is graphic and captures the shooting. The woman reportedly was unarmed.
The woman’s name is Ashley Babbitt. A former 14 year Air Force veteran from San Diego, and apparently a former high-level security expert, San Diego media reported
First-hand accounts indicate that the DC police callously shot the unarmed protestor and then chanted to the other activists, ” who’s gonna be next”. Protestors and on-scene journalists are describing the shooting as an execution and claim it was done as a warning to the rest of the protestors. The media has downplayed the story thus far, the woman was taken out of the capital in a body bag.
