Israeli Model & Actress Yael Shelbia in Top Spot of 2020 Most Beautiful Women in the World

Despite the onerous challenges of the coronavirus, race riots, and the contentious presidential election of 2020, there is some good news to share.

This year has seen the gorgeous and multi-talented Israeli actress Gal Gadot grab the headlines for her performance in “Wonder Woman 1984” and in addition to that, it was reported on Thursday that yet another Israeli woman is taking center stage in the world of celebrity and glamour.

Israel HaYom has reported on Thursday that Israeli model Yael Shelbia, 19, has been awarded the top spot on the magazine TC Candler’s list of the most beautiful women in the world for 2020. The list ranked actress and “Wonder Woman” star Gal Gadot No. 22.

Overnight on Sunday, TC Candler released a video compilation showing its readers’ picks for the most beautiful women in the world. The 15-minute clip ends with a picture of Shelbia’s face and her title, according to Israel HaYom.

The newspaper reported that the clip garnered some 200,000 views in the first two hours it was posted online. Later Monday, the magazine was expected to formally announce Shelbia as “loveliest of them all” on its official Instagram page, which has roughly 1 million followers.

Shelbia has recently climbed in the list’s rankings over the past few years. In 2017, the model placed 14th; and in 2018, she was up to third place. In 2019, she came in second, and now she has made it into the top spot, according to Israel HaYom.

“I’ve never come first at anything … it’s very nice,” the 19-year-old, who is currently doing her mandatory military service in the Israeli air force, told the Times of Israel.

The hot model and actress is dating is reportedly dating 35-year-old Brandon Korff, grandson of the late CBS and Viacom billionaire honcho Sumner Redstone, who was kicked out of Israel for blowing off COVID-19 quarantine rules this past spring when he secretly visited Shelbia, according to a report in the NY Post.

Shelbia is also a star on social media as her Instagram page is filled with selfies that she shares with her nearly 1 million followers, according to the Post report. Shelbia, who is described as an exquisite blue-eyed brunette has also been in campaigns for Israeli fashion company Renuar, KM earbuds and Kim Kardashian’s KKW Beauty makeup line, as was reported by the Post.

“Thank you @tccandler and all the voters    I appreciate it with all my heart!!” Shelbia posted on the ‘Gram after her global win.

For years now, Shelbia has been on the face-ranking list which ranked the model as No 3 in 2018.

Quite a compliment, considering the official criteria to make the 30-year-old list: “Aesthetic perfection is only one of the criteria. Grace, elegance, originality, daring, passion, class, poise, joy, promise, hope … they are all embodied in a beautiful face.”

The Post reported that unlike most other annual “beauty rankings,” founder TC Candler claims his “list is not a popularity contest and is most definitely not country-specific. It is not about the sexiest body or the most famous celebrity. Rather, the list attempts to inform and broaden public opinion instead of reflecting it. You will find superstars and new stars, global sensations and relative unknowns.”
