Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner are ready to splurge on a Miami Island lot in the high security neighborhood. As reported exclusively by Page Six, the couple is purchasing a $30 million-plus lot of land on Miami’s Indian Creek Island, also known as the “Billionaire’s Bunker”.
Ivanka and Jared currently reside with their three children in Washington, DC, in the prestigious Kalorama neighborhood so they can be close to the White House. For the past four years, they have been renting a $15,000-a-month house from Chilean millionaire Andrónico Luksic. Now, as they prepare for their likely exit from their White House roles, sources say the couple is busy scouting numerous properties and eyeing a move to the Miami or Palm Beach, Florida area.
The Post reported that the couple is buying Lot 4, in the gated Indian Creek Island Country Club, with plans to build a bay front estate. The sale reportedly closes on December 17. The private neighborhood is guarded, and is said to be one of the most secure enclaves in Florida, providing a 13-man police force for only 29 homes. The property they have their eye on is 1.84 acres, and has 200 feet of private waterfront. The lot was listed online by Coldwell Banker Realty for sale at $31.8 million. Taxes on the property are now listed at $472,764 a year. The property listing boasts that “the island is one of the most exclusive & private neighborhoods in the world with its private Country Club & Golf Course, police force, & 24/7 armed boat patrol.”
The seller and current owner of the said property is singer Julio Iglesias. Other famous past and present residents to the prestigious Indian Creek Island include billionaire Carl Icahn, hedge funder Eddie Lampert, billionaire hotel heir Jeff Soffer, former Miami Dolphins coach Don Shula, former Philadelphia Eagles owner Norman Braman, and supermodel Adriana Lima.
Indian Creek Island is also only about an hour away from President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach. Jared would also have family in the area, as his younger brother, Joshua Kushner, and his supermodel wife, Karlie Kloss, purchased a $22 million home in Miami recently. Josh, 35, who is the founder of venture capital firm Thrive Capital and the co-founder of Oscar Health, the health insurance startup valued at roughly $2.7 billion and Karlie, 28, sold their 2 bedroom downtown Manhattan apartment last year, and are anticipating the birth of their first child.
Ivanka and Jared still own their Manhattan apartment on Park Avenue, and as per the Post, they have no plans to sell it. The couple also owns a cottage by the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, NJ. It was at first speculated that the couple would opt to move to this NJ home, which they are currently working on expanding and renovating.
Representatives for Ivanka and the White House declined to comment.
