Jill Biden’s ex-husband Bill Stevenson appears in the news every once in a while. Usually, it is about how Joe Biden actually met Jill
With a new commercial the Biden campaign has released focusing on how Joe met Jill, it’s worth taking a look at Stevenson’s claims.
The accounts of the video state that Joe met Jill two years after a fatal car crash that killed Biden’s previous wife and their baby daughter. Biden said that the two were introduced after he saw her picture on a poster, and requested her number from his brother, who apparently knew her.
The campaign video portrays a romantic story about how Joe got Jill’s number from his brother and asked her on a date.
Stevenson says it all lies, and Jill was having an affair with the Vice President before the tragic car accident which killed Biden’s first wife.
It is very important to discuss, Joe Biden’s first wife. Most know that the politician’s first wife Neilia, 30, and their one-year-old daughter, Naomi, were killed tragically in December 1972 when a tractor-trailer collided with Neilia Biden’s car.
The incident left Biden heartbroken. Beau and Hunter Biden, aged four and three at the time, were also seriously injured but survived the crash.
What most voters do not know is how Joe Biden used this tragedy for political purposes.
Joe Biden created a narrative in which the driver of the tractor-trailer was intoxicated.
“A tractor-trailer, a guy who allegedly – and I never pursued it – drank his lunch instead of eating his lunch, broadsided my family and killed my wife instantly and killed my daughter instantly and hospitalized my two sons,” Biden told a crowd in 2007.
In 2001, Joe Biden also took the opportunity to use this tragedy for political brownie points.
Biden delivered a speech at the University of Delaware to a crowd of more than 2,700, shortly after 9-11.
He told them not to be afraid and that he felt for the people who had received a call saying their loved ones were dead, just like that, there in the morning, now gone forever, Politico reported. Once, he said, he had gotten that call.
“It was an errant driver who stopped to drink instead of drive and hit – a tractor-trailer – hit my children and my wife and killed them,” he said.
The driver, who is now deceased, was cleared of any wrongdoing.
Delaware Superior Court Judge Jerome O. Herlihy, who oversaw the police investigation as chief prosecutor, said there was no evidence supporting Biden’s claim and Dunn was cleared of any wrongdoing, widely reported in Deleware media.
“The rumor about alcohol being involved by either party, especially the truck driver Curtis Dunn” is incorrect,” Herlihy said in 2008.
One of the driver’s seven children, Pamela Dunn Hamill, previously told CBS that Biden called her the following year and “apologized for hurting my family in any way.”
“So we accepted that – and kind of end of the story from there,” she said in 2009.
Another daughter of Curtis Dunn went public with The Sun and was angered when she heard Biden call President Trump a liar during the first debate.
“Biden has got a lot of nerve calling Trump a liar”, Deborah Criddle, of Delaware, told The Sun that she wants Biden to publicly set the record straight and clear the name of her late father, Curtis Dunn. “That’s the pot calling the kettle black.”
Biden has never publically walked back the besmirchment of the man involved with this tragedy, even after Mr. Dunn passed away.
If Joe Biden had to lie about a horrific car accident, one could find it plausible he is lying about the romantic courtship of his second wife, just to make a palatable fairytale-like story for the voting public.
Bill Stevenson, Jill Biden’s ex-husband, says the entire story about Joe asking for her phone number from his brother is all fiction.
Appearing in August on Delaware talk radio station WDEL, Stevenson said:
“I said, ‘Look, the Bidens made up this dramatic story that they met, he saw a picture of her,’ and I told him, I said, ‘That was so untrue,’” Stevenson said in the interview.
“There are probably 500 people in Delaware that saw Joe Biden and Jill at three major fundraising events at the Stone Balloon [Ale House] in 1972 after the Stone Balloon opened in February.
“One thing I do not want to do, and I know this might sound funny to people, is that I don’t want to hurt her chances of becoming first lady of the United States – that’s not my goal,” Stevenson told the station, according to the paper. “I would say to Jill, ‘listen, you know how I feel about this. You had an affair. You worked on the campaign,’” Stevenson said.
“Why you invented this crazy story on Oprah Winfrey [that] he saw your picture in the train station – there are too many people that knew we worked on his campaign in 1972.”
One thing is for certain, with 2 days until election day, the media is not talking about Bill Stevenson or the Dunn family.
