President Donald Trump’s approval rating among voters under age 50 is proving to be steady and positive, according to a new Hill/HarrisX poll.
About 55% of people between ages 35 and 49 give Trump a positive approval rating, Newsweek reported.
Roughly, 35% in the same age group said they “strongly disapprove” of the president’s performance, with another 33% saying they “strongly approve,” and 21% reporting they “somewhat approve.”
Just 10% of voters in that age group said they “somewhat disapprove” of Trump.
By contrast, 57% of voters older than age 65 disapproved of Trump, with his approval falling more and more since the coronavirus pandemic began.
Within the 50-64 age group, 58% disapproved of the president’s performance. Among the 18-34 age group, 56% disapproved.
Men are more likely to support Trump, with 54% approving of him and 46% disapproving. The president’s support waned among women, with only 41% approving of his performance and 59% disapproving.
About 55% of white voters support the president, versus 25% of Black voters and 37% of Hispanic voters, the poll reported.
The Hill-HarrisX poll surveyed 2,804 registered voters Sept. 18-21 with a margin of error of plus or minus 1.9 percentage points.
