Shootings in NYC on Track to Surpass 2018 & 2019 Combined, Gun Sales Surge

By: Jared Evan

Shootings in New York City at this point in 2020 are on track to surpass the number of shootings witnessed during this time frame in 2018 and 2019 combined, Breitbart reported.

NY Post reported: There have been 821 shootings and 1,000-gun victims as of Saturday.

Last year for same time frame, there were 466 shootings and 551 victims, while in 2018, there were 449 incidents and 548 victims.

That means combined, there were 905 shooting incidents and 1,099 victims for time period in 2018 and 2019 — close to the totals for this year alone, according to statistics released by the NYPD on Sunday.

NYC is seeing a similar pattern in terms of gun purchases in response to the crime increase and violent ANTIFA and BLM riots. Reports coming out of Portland, Colorado, and Seattle, indicate the radicals are marching into suburban areas to cause disruptions, people are taking no chances and stocking up on guns and ammunition.

Breitbart reported:

On August 6, 2020, Breitbart News reported June gun purchases in NYC were up 121 percent over where they were in June 2019.

The Post reported there were 52,252 background checks performed for people wanting to buy guns in New York in June. The great majority of those background checks–31,003–were for rifle purchases.

Purchasing a rifle involves less red tape inasmuch as it does not include the permitting process one must go through for a handgun, according to Breitbart

The latest violence occurred Sunday ae NY Post reported 9 people were shot with 3 more deaths. Combine the violence with the economic destruction the coronavirus lock- downs have created and it is easy to understand why families with enough money are leaving NYC in droves.

NY Post reported:

On Sunday, cops found Madgey Saleh, 23, of Queens fatally shot in the abdomen around 3:30 a.m. outside the 10-03 Deli and Grocery across from Queensbridge Houses in Long Island City, police said. Saleh was taken to Weill Cornell Hospital and pronounced dead, the department said.

About an hour later, Jonathan Distant, 25, of The Bronx was found with a gunshot wound to the lower back at 146-56 183 St. in Queens Village, cops said. He was rushed to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

Later Sunday night, in an act of primitive animalistic behavior 36-year-old man was fatally shot in front of his wife in The Bronx — after inadvertently flicking a cigarette near a group of men, police sources said Sunday.

This kind of savagery is a way of life now in NYC. The actions of the City council, the mayor’s attitude towards  police and the talk of “defunding” police have created a total lawless environment, where people are acting out of pure impulse, knowing that law enforcement has been desegregated to the point where the law is a non-factor. An arrest means basically nothing, when bail reforms men you will be instantly back on the street, even in cases of more violent crimes. With “bleeding heart” judges in the court systems, getting away with murder has become an achievable reality.

Meanwhile, reports across America from gun shops and online retailers indicate ammo & shortages, in many cases, there are waiting lists to purchase firearms, as inventory is wiped clean. The progressive utopian vision of an equal society where everyone is disarmed has completely backfired and we are seeing violent explosions across the nation
