Dr. Knut M. Wittkowski, the former head of biostatistics, epidemiology, and research design at Rockefeller University has been censored by YouTube. A widely popular video that had received over 1.3 million views on the original and had received even more in re-uploads has now been banned
Wittkowski, who holds two doctorates in computer science and medical biometry, believes the coronavirus should be allowed to achieve “herd immunity,” and that short of a vaccine the pandemic will only end after it has sufficiently spread through the population.
The expert believes that social distancing only prolongs the lifetime of a virus and has also criticized the lockdowns, saying that they’re not necessary. His science is not exactly fringe nor radical. Sweden has guided their nation’s policies during the pandemic on these same ideas.
“With all respiratory diseases, the only thing that stops the disease is herd immunity. About 80% of the people need to have had contact with the virus, and the majority of them won’t even have recognized that they were infected,” Wittkowski said, in the video before it was deleted by YouTube.
