What a deflating experience.
Avraham Adler, said by some to have been an ultra-Orthodox Jew, has been arrested.
Adler, who reportedly has a pregnant wife and three kids in New Jersey, has gotten famous for “allegedly turning his East Village rental into a pay-at-the-door sex-soiree venue,” according to the New York Post.
He was placed under arrest on Friday by US Marshals and NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force members.
“The 33-year-old was placed in leg cuffs and handcuffs — not the furry kind — outside his East 7th St. building. Authorities said they were executing a Pennsylvania warrant for a probation violation stemming from a fraud conviction,” the Post reported. “A galpal tried to stop a fed-up neighbor from video-recording the 8 a.m. collar in front of the $4 million townhouse he leases. “This is none of your concern,” the woman says. “Can you please relax because it’s none of your business. Please don’t do this. What is your f–king problem?” One of the law enforcers says, “Ma’am, this is a public place. He can do what he wants to do.”
“Adler, who also has a residence in suburban New Jersey, where his pregnant wife and three children live, reportedly charged $60 for admission to parties. Per an Eventbrite listing for one of the gatherings, his townhouse was billed as “a place without conformity to the mainstream.” The unlikely host of these parties, which allegedly included group foreplay, claimed he is a devout Jew, not even keeping car keys in his pocket during Shabbat,” reported forward.com.
The story is so outlandish it has made headlines as far away as England. London-based Dailymail.com, citing reporting from the New York Post, noted “His wife, Shana Adler, is pregnant with the couple’s fourth child. ‘I want a divorce,’ she told the Post. ‘He is not supporting us whatsoever. He’s cut us off completely. My friends are paying our bills.’”
Shana Adler, the Daily Mail story continued, “says a number of her husband’s ‘girlfriends’ call her and say that they ‘feel bad about the double life they’re leading.’ She told the Post that she kicked her husband out of their home a few months ago after she found out about his relationship with two women – ‘Nicole’ and ‘Alexa’. Avraham Adler denies dating either of the women. Shana Adler says she told her husband to leave ‘for a lot of things I don’t want in the paper.’”
