Is Saudi Arabia at the Brink of War?

Saudi Arabia is engaged in an ongoing war with the Iranian and Hezbollah supported Shiite Houthi group of rebels operating from its southern neighbor, Yemen. This weekend, the Houthis claimed credit for the (doubtful) drone attacks on Arabia’s major oil facilities that cut that nation’s petroleum production in half. This battle has been ongoing since March of 2015 when Saudi and Emirati led forces entered the civil war in Yemen to prevent its being taken over by the Houthi proxies of Iran. Over 10,000 people have died since. And this conflict is escalating to the point where the U.S. is slowly becoming involved. Watch out!

Just this Saturday, Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, accused Iran of using cruise missile strikes from Iraq or Iran that contradicts the claims that they originated from rebel bases in Yemen. And President Trump threatened a military response once it is determined who launched these attacks which crippled the Saudi industry. Prior to these attacks, the Saudi’s pumped out over 8 million barrels a day but after the strikes on their prime facilities, it’s estimated that the production of 5.7 million barrels will be knocked out. There will be a subsequent rise in oil prices with the effects being mainly felt in China, Japan, India, Korea and Taiwan, who consume over 4 million barrels a day of crude from Arabia.

But let’s look at the situation right here in our country that is now drowning in our own, domestically produced oil. The U.S. is currently the world’s largest crude producer and among the top exporters of gas and oil. In this sad and crucial situation, we are sitting pretty. But this was not always the case. We’re now governed by an administration that has made this country practically energy independent. We no longer have to kiss the rings of potentates and dictators of oil rich nations for our needs. Under the Obama ruled economy back in 2017 our crude production daily was a little over 8 million barrels per day and diminishing with pressure from militant “Global Warming” environmentalists to further reduce our output. It is now thankfully, over 12 million per day and climbing. And we have the capacity to further lift production if the radical Green Movement does not interfere with their cries for more windmills and solar panels to kill our energy independence.

Kudos to our current leaders who had the foresight to increase drilling, even in areas that were once home only to a few caribou, arctic fox and endless frozen tundra. Our shale oil producers are the envy of the world. With the onset of what is prophesied to be another frigid winter in our northern areas, we should be very thankful that we have finally achieved energy independence enough to meet our own needs. No more groveling to our enemies for oil. Whom do we pat on the back for this??? Any names pop up?
