Uri Ariel on Temple Mount From his Facebook Page
In honor of Rosh Chodesh, (the new month of Tamuz on the Hebrew calendar), Uri Ariel Minister of Agriculture ascends to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.
On his Twitter account he writes: ’Today on Rosh Chodesh Tammuz I ascended the Temple Mount. This morning I made a special prayer for the brotherhood, love, peace and friendship for all the tribes of Israel, sang together. I hug our brother from Ethiopia and pray that together we will be able to build the State of Israel together with all Diaspora Jews.
Good and blessed month!!
Yesterday Minister Ariel attended the funeral of Salomon Tikka, the Ehiopian-Israeli youth who was shot by an off duty policeman on Sunday.
Minister Ariel said: “I came today to express my sympathy to the dear Ethiopian community, which I have been accompanying for more than 30 years. My heart is with the dear Tikka family for the death of Solomon, who was shot by a policeman … Unfortunately, the DIP does not broadcast public trust as in the last case with Yehuda Biadga in Bat Yam and Umm al-Hiran. I call on Prime Minister Netanyahu to convince the special committee he set up to deal with issues of Ethiopian Jewry.
We as a society have to strengthen and embrace the Ethiopian community that fought to immigrate to Israel and work for the immigration of the rest of the Jews who are waiting to immigrate to Israel. I sincerely hope that peace and evil will be true to our children, not hatred and racism, and we hope that this is the last such tragic event”.
