Fake Doctor Arrested in Jerusalem

The Israeli police arrested a resident of Eastern Jerusalem on suspicion of working in a local clinic while posing as a doctor and treating patients. The treatments included aesthetics and giving prescription drugs.

Police investigation into suspicions of impersonating a doctor and illegal medical practice against a suspect in his 30s began following complaints filed with the police.

According to the police investigation, the suspect operates a private clinic in Ein Aloeza in Eastern Jerusalem, where he is suspected of receiving patients posing as a certified doctor. He also provides them with various treatments, according to which he is suspected of administering aesthetics. All of this is done on with the help of another qualified physician working in the clinic.

The suspect was arrested by police investigators for questioning on Tuesday on suspicion of impersonation, receiving fraudulently and illegally engaging in medicine.

Last night, the suspect was brought before the Magistrate’s Court in Jerusalem, who released the suspect on condition of being removed from the clinic and other restrictive conditions.

The investigation is continuing in order to locate additional complainants who may have been injured due to receiving medical treatment from the suspect.
