On Friday night, wild pigs attacked a female resident of Karnei Shomron while she was walking with her family in the center of the town.
The injured woman was evacuated to the hospital for treatment.
Wild boars are not rare in many of the town of Samaria, but until recently cases in which people have been attacked and injured have been very rare.
The wild boars that come from the nature reserves near-by and are looking for water and food. They turn garbage cans and break water pipes.
In addition, they cause great damage to ornamental gardens and agricultural lands.
The common solution to the problem of large swarms of wild boars is mainly through controlled hunting approved by the authorities, but it is done in low doses.
Now residents hope that the problem will be dealt with more seriously.
